HAIR CUT TRIM

Last Saturday, Remi said to Grandma: "I got a hair cut trim today"
This is what she meant:

SISTERS

Ahhh...the joys of sisterhood!

I always wanted a sister, and here's just one reason why:

If you don't understand how a woman could both love her sister dearly and want to wring her neck at the same time, then you were probably an only child. ~Linda Sunshine

You can kid the world. But not your sister. ~Charlotte Gray

A sister smiles when one tells one's stories - for she knows where the decoration has been added. ~Chris Montaigne

More than Santa Claus, your sister knows when you've been bad and good. ~Linda Sunshine

How do people make it through life without a sister? ~Sara Corpening

When sisters stand shoulder to shoulder, who stands a chance against us? ~Pam Brown

When mom and dad don't understand, a sister always will. ~Author Unknown

Siblings are the people we practice on, the people who teach us about fairness and cooperation and kindness and caring - quite often the hard way. ~Pamela Dugdale

VACATION

This year we spent almost a week together at the lake house. We had a great time!

On the first day it rained just as we pulled up to the swimming pond. And then there was the day Charlee lost a tooth...luckily The Tooth Fairy found her. We made a trip to Woodsville and ate a (really yummy) family-style fried chicken lunch at Pickett House and had fun touring The Heritage Museum. We went to Johnson's Rock Shop in Indian Springs, but they were closed. We went back a couple of days later and had a lot of fun doing the traditional rock exploration. Daddy made pancakes every morning and Aunt Shaun cooked up the bacon...we never seemed to get sick of either one (the food, not the people). Dominoes were the prominent pass time (OFF the water anyway).

On the water we enjoyed swimming, tubing, wake boarding and knee boarding. Excitement included: Ava wearing Emma's life jacket to swim in the lake... Emma standing on the knee board (hard to do)...alligator hunting...double pulling Amanda wake boarding with Scott knee boarding (turned around for them about a dozen times)...Amanda falling off that wake board really close to a gator...coming in from lake at dark with gi-normous bugs smacking us in the face...and of course, the beautiful rainbow:

We'll spend the year resting up to do it all again next summer!

UNDER THE BIG TOP

Sunday we drove our clown car down to Reliant to see the show...Remi's first circus!

We had a lot of fun. We enjoyed the pre-show where we got to see clowns and elephants up close and personal. We saw Kelly Ann the Elephant paint a beautiful picture...we saw acrobats swing across the sky...we saw a man walk on the ceiling...we enjoyed snow cones and cotton candy...we laughed at the clown when he took a cell phone from a lady in the audience, lured her to center stage, then proceeded to drop her phone in his pants...funny stuff!

All in all I'd say Remi had a great 1st-circus experience.

But I'm a little worried about what they learned there:

Hoping it's a temporary passion and not a hopeful profession!

RUN AVA, RUN!

Who needs a horse and carriage when you've got
a big dog and a plasma car?

One should always cringe when they hear the dreaded words: "Mommy....come see what we did!"

AUTOMATIC WINDOWS

This morning we're driving down the road, and the back passenger window starts to open.
Everyone knows no one is supposed to open the windows without asking me first (something about Chevy SUVs...when the front windows are shut, and the back are open, the equillibrium is thrown off and the sound makes you want to shake your ears off)
The question is...who was the culprit?
Was it this child:
Noooo...

Was it this child:

Noooo...

Was it this child:

Yes!

Not even kidding.

I only hope she forgets how she did it.
